Spark - Week 1 Missions
Welcome to Week One of the IMPACT AI Lab. This is where the journey begins, and the first spark of your creativity, knowledge, and vision will take shape. To start, we’ve set three missions (and a bonus) that blend play, practice, and problem-solving. Each challenge has points attached, submit as many you can to maximize your Leaderboard points. The goal is to push your imagination and build momentum. Upload your submissions below:
Mission One: The NanoBanana Remix — 10 points
Use Google’s NanoBanana AI Image Generator to upload a photo of yourself and reimagine it through the lens of your area of study. Are you a biologist who becomes a living molecule, an economist turned data wave, or an artist reshaped as a surreal symbol? Be bold and let the AI transform you into a reflection of your discipline. You are awarded points based on your creativity and the visual story you tell.

Mission Two: NotebookLM Mastery — 20 points
Take a subject you’re currently working on, whether it’s from a class, a project, or independent research and use Google’s NotebookLM to create an AI-powered notebook. Generate the audio snippets, flashcards, or summaries that can teach others. The aim is to practice turning knowledge into reusable, AI-supported learning. Ensure you set your NotebookLM to be public.
Mission Three: The Caribbean AI Pitch — 30 points
Now it’s your turn to step into the shoes of a problem-solver. Write a one-page pitch for an AI solution that tackles a problem facing the Caribbean. It could be in health, climate, education, arts, tourism, any area you feel strongly about. Keep it in your own writing style, simple but powerful, and make us believe in your idea. Bonus points for images and mockups.
Mission Bonus: What do you think of AI? — 20 points
What do you think of where AI is going? Are you worried, excited, neutral, or inbetween for a world where AI is everywhere?
